6. Feeling

This group of sūtras collects teachings that discuss feeling (S. vedanā), especially the three types of feelings, which are pleasant, painful, and neutral feelings. Feeling is also the second of the five aggregates (SĀ 1) and the condition for craving that arises from contact of the six senses with their objects of experience (sight, sounds, etc.) in dependent origination and cessation chains of causality (SĀ 3).

The Feeling group consists of 31 sūtras when abbreviated sūtra variants are counted. The material is found in fascicle 17 of Taisho No. 99.
