3. Dependent Origination
This group of sūtras takes causation as it’s primary theme, especially the causation of one’s existence in the world and liberation from suffering. The topics encountered in this section of the Related Discourses usually revolve around dependent origination in various contexts.
The Causation group consists of 78 sūtras when abbreviated sūtra variants are counted. The material spans fascicles 12, 14, and 15 of Taisho No. 99, which have been reordered according to Yinshun’s reconstruction. Below is a list of the English translations currently available.
